Narendra Modi emphasized that every decision in governance should be guided by the principle of “Nagrik Devo Bhava” (Citizens are like God). Marking Civil Services Day on April 21, he wrote letters to nearly one crore government employees across the country in multiple languages, including Hindi, English, and Telugu. He urged officials to deliver services with empathy and operate to their fullest potential. Highlighting the rapidly changing global landscape, he noted that the 21st century presents both significant challenges and opportunities, driven by evolving trends, emerging technologies, and rising expectations from citizens and the global community.
The Prime Minister stressed that continuous learning must become a lifelong habit for those in public service. Referring to Mission Karmayogi, he said the initiative aims to foster curiosity, innovation, and a positive mindset among employees. He called civil servants “Karmayogis” and encouraged them to adapt, collaborate, and work with a holistic approach toward governance rather than in isolation. Modi also highlighted the importance of initiatives like “Sadhana Saptah” in building skills and promoting growth, urging employees to contribute to nation-building by constantly improving themselves.
