‘Rakasa’ Heads to OTT: Official Announcement Released

Produced by ‘Mega Daughter’ Niharika Konidela, the film *Rakasa* is now set for its OTT release. Having achieved significant success in theaters, the movie is now poised to entertain audiences on digital platforms. Directed by Manasa Sharma, the film stars Sangeeth Shobhan and Nayan Sarika in the lead roles. Prominent actors such as Vennela Kishore, Brahmaji, Getup Srinu, Tanikella Bharani, and Ashish Vidyarthi play pivotal supporting roles.

The film is scheduled to begin streaming on a leading OTT platform on May 1, 2026. In addition to Telugu, there is a possibility that the movie will also be released in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. Produced on a budget of approximately ₹15 crores, the film proved to be a commercial success, garnering gross box office collections of ₹27 crores. Reports also suggest that the film generated substantial revenue through the sale of its digital rights.

As for the plot, the story centers on Veeru, a young man working in the United States who returns to his native village to fulfill his romantic aspirations. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, he becomes entangled in murder allegations. Simultaneously, a series of intriguing events unfold within the village, revolving around an ancient fort and the legend of a *Brahma Rakshasa* (a mythical demon). The narrative unfolds as a suspenseful thriller, exploring the challenges Veeru faces upon entering the fort, the secrets hidden within its walls, and the ultimate question of whether or not he will manage to escape his predicament.
