SS Rajamouli’s upcoming magnum opus Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu, is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on April 7, 2027. With filming reportedly nearing completion, the makers have shifted their focus towards pre-release business and negotiations for various rights. However, the latest industry buzz suggests that the team is not entirely satisfied with the offers received so far. The OTT deal is reportedly below their expectations, while similar concerns are said to surround other non-theatrical rights.
Given the film’s massive budget and ambitious scale, the makers are reportedly unwilling to settle for valuations that fall short of their expectations. With a substantial investment involved, the team is expected to approach the negotiations cautiously before finalising any deals. Priyanka Chopra, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Prakash Raj play key roles in the film. Whether the makers will receive offers that match their expectations remains to be seen.
