The Telangana Drugs Control Administration has issued a strict advisory to halt the use of the syrup ‘Almont-Kid’. The directive comes after a warning from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) indicating that the syrup is contaminated with ethylene glycol, a toxic substance. Authorities have urged the public to stop using or selling this syrup immediately.
Since this medicine is primarily intended for children, the administration has emphasized heightened caution among parents and caregivers. Any stocks of the syrup should be returned or disposed of safely to prevent health risks. The government has assured continuous monitoring to safeguard public health.
