A sensational robbery took place at a jewelry store in Kasibugga, Srikakulam district. Eight miscreants, wearing T-shirts and masks inscribed with the word "Police," entered Sri Venkateswara Jewelers in Nithyanandanagar during the afternoon. Threatening the owner, Killamsetti Ramakrishna Rao, at gunpoint, they handcuffed him and took him into custody. Subsequently, they seized the locker keys, looted the gold ornaments stored inside—as well as the jewelry the merchant was wearing around his neck—and fled the scene.
After the miscreants had departed, the victim stepped out while still handcuffed and alerted nearby shopkeepers. Upon receiving the information, the police immediately rushed to the crime scene, removed the handcuffs, and initiated an investigation. The victim stated that approximately one kilogram of gold ornaments was stolen during the incident. The police have registered a case and have launched a manhunt to apprehend the miscreants.
