In Andhra Pradesh, a significant administrative change has taken place in village panchayat governance as the tenure of current sarpanches ended on April 2. The government issued G.O.Ms.No.47 to formalize the transition and ensure continuity in local administration.
From April 3, Special Officers will take charge of panchayats until new elections are conducted. Officials such as Tahsildars, MPDOs, and MEOs have been assigned these responsibilities. District Collectors have been authorized to oversee and implement these appointments across the state.
