Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the newly built international airport in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. This modern airport, developed at Jewar, is one of the most advanced projects in the country. During the launch, he said the airport will benefit farmers, businesses and especially young people by creating job opportunities. The event was attended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other leaders.
The airport is expected to boost economic growth in the region and improve connectivity to nearby cities like Aligarh, Agra, Mathura, Ghaziabad, Meerut and Bulandshahr. Built with an investment of about ₹11,200 crore, the first phase has now been completed. It is designed to handle around 12 million passengers every year and includes both passenger and cargo services. With modern systems and a long runway, the airport will support smooth and fast operations.
Flight services from this airport are likely to begin within 45 days. Initially, domestic flights will operate, followed by international services later this year. Airlines such as IndiGo, Akasa Air and Air India Express are expected to start services first. This airport will also work alongside the Delhi International Airport, improving overall travel convenience and connectivity.
