Nvidia has rolled out a major update to its Deep Learning Super Sampling technology with the launch of DLSS 4.5. The update introduces an advanced 6X multi-frame generation feature, which creates five additional AI-powered frames for every natively rendered frame. This is a significant improvement over the previous 4X multiplier and is designed to enhance performance, especially on high end GPUs like the GeForce RTX 50 Series.
The update also includes dynamic multi frame generation, which helps maintain target frame rates during high refresh rate gaming. This feature ensures smoother gameplay by generating additional frames when users play at 120Hz, 144Hz, or even 240Hz. According to Nvidia, the new update can boost 4K frame rates by up to 35 percent in path-traced games, while maintaining responsiveness and improving overall gaming experience.
Additionally, DLSS 4.5 brings a new frame generation model that enhances in-game visuals by improving user interface elements such as mini-maps and on-screen displays. The feature is currently supported in select titles, including Battlefield 6, God of War: Ragnarök, and Hogwarts Legacy. The update is currently rolling out via the Nvidia app beta, ahead of the anticipated DLSS 5 release.
