West Bengal Chief Minister and Mamata Banerjee filed her nomination on Wednesday from the Bhawanipur Assembly constituency for the upcoming assembly elections. Ahead of filing her nomination, she participated in a roadshow from her residence to the Survey building, drawing significant public attention. The last date for filing nominations for the second and final phase of the elections is set for tomorrow.
Earlier, Suvendu Adhikari, the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate and Leader of Opposition, had filed his nomination from the same constituency. The event was attended by senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The Bhawanipur seat is expected to witness a high profile contest between major political parties.
