A young IT employee from Kerala, Sharanya, who went missing during a trekking trip, was finally found safe after four days in the forests of Coorg. She had gone trekking on April 2 with a group to climb Tadiandamol Peak, the highest peak in the region, but lost her way and got stuck in a dense forest area.
Following her disappearance, a large search operation was launched with coordination between the Kerala and Karnataka governments. Over 100 personnel, including forest officials, local police, sniffer dogs and special forces, were involved in the rescue mission. Advanced drones and thermal imaging cameras were also used to locate her.
On Sunday evening, Sharanya was finally found near a forest area close to the peak. Despite being without food, she survived by drinking water and showed great courage. She was shifted to a medical college for check-up and officials confirmed that her health is stable. She will soon be sent back to her hometown in Kerala.
