Indian badminton star PV Sindhu, who was stranded in Dubai due to escalating tensions in the Gulf region, has safely returned to India. On Tuesday, she departed from Dubai and landed at Bengaluru Airport. Sindhu shared the update on her social media account ‘X’, confirming her safe return and detailing the uncertain conditions she faced in Dubai over the past few days.
Sindhu expressed her gratitude to Dubai officials, airport staff and immigration authorities for their support in ensuring a safe journey. She mentioned that she will take some rest and then reassess her future plans.
Sindhu had traveled to England for the All England Badminton Championship but got stranded in Dubai amid tensions between the U.S., Israel and Iran, which caused flight cancellations from Saturday onwards. Through coordinated efforts between UAE and Indian authorities, Sindhu, along with other stranded Indian nationals, was successfully brought back home.
