Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s efforts have brought the Pithapuram Railway Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme for a comprehensive redevelopment. The central Railway Ministry has approved the proposal to enhance the station with modern facilities at an estimated cost of ₹37.25 crore. The upgraded station will include state-of-the-art amenities, improved platforms, sheltered areas, modern toilets, advanced drainage systems, and a dedicated waiting lounge for differently-abled passengers.
During his previous visit, Pawan Kalyan observed unhygienic conditions and foul odor around the station premises and immediately directed officials to ensure cleanliness. In a January meeting with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in Delhi, he emphasized the spiritual importance of Pithapuram as a major town attracting travelers from distant regions and requested its development under the Amrit Bharat Scheme. Expressing gratitude, Pawan Kalyan acknowledged the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for facilitating and endorsing the redevelopment project.
