With only a few days left for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, major political parties have intensified their campaigning. Leaders of key parties have already filed nominations and are actively reaching out to voters. Pre poll surveys suggest a tough fight between the DMK Congress alliance and the AIADMK BJP alliance. Meanwhile, actor Vijay is entering the electoral fray for the first time with his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). Seeman’s Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) is also contesting independently, making the competition even more intense.
Due to the presence of multiple parties and strong alliances, analysts believe that winning candidates may not secure large majorities this time. Major parties have allocated more seats to their allies, resulting in DMK and AIADMK not contesting in 21 constituencies. In these seats, alliance partners will contest without the main party symbols. Experts say the growing influence of smaller parties has led to increased seat sharing adjustments. Analysts like V. Bharathi and R. Chandrasekaran noted that the entry of new players like TVK has significantly altered the electoral equations, making the contest more unpredictable than previous elections.
