N. Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the implementation of the Jaladhara–Jalaharathi programme with district collectors through a video conference held in Amaravati on April 6. He directed officials to treat the initiative as a top priority and ensure its effective execution across all districts. During the review, officials informed that participation from irrigation associations in Srikakulam district has been encouraging. The Chief Minister appreciated Nandyal and West Godavari districts for preparing a 100-day action plan on the very first day of the programme.
Highlighting the progress in Annamayya district, he noted that proactive measures helped increase groundwater levels by 8.59 meters and enabled the recharge of around 20,000 borewells. He advised all districts to follow this model. The Chief Minister emphasized that proper water conservation can bring visible changes and contribute to the state’s all-round development. He also called for turning the programme into a public movement with active community participation.
