

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the Census is not merely a government exercise but a responsibility in which every citizen must participate. He assured that the information provided by people during Census 2027 will remain completely secure and will be stored in digital form. He urged all citizens across the country to actively take part in the process. Addressing the nation during the latest edition of the radio programme Mann Ki Baat, the Prime Minister described the achievement of “criticality” at the Fast Breeder Reactor in Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu, as a historic milestone for the nation. He praised the efforts of nuclear scientists and said that the civil nuclear programme would play a vital role in India’s development.
The Prime Minister also highlighted that India has crossed another significant milestone in wind energy production. He said the country’s installed wind power capacity has surpassed 56 gigawatts, placing India fourth in the world. He noted that the dairy sector is witnessing rapid transformation and is giving Indian traditional flavours a new identity. Modi appealed to citizens to support artisans from Northeast India by purchasing bamboo products made in the region. Remembering Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, he described him as a great writer, thinker and the visionary behind several renowned institutions. He also expressed happiness that an organisation in Chile is promoting the teachings of Lord Buddha.
