

A private travels bus was gutted in a fire on National Highway 44 near Masaipet in Medak district. The incident occurred after flames suddenly erupted inside the vehicle. However, a major tragedy was averted as the driver and cleaner acted swiftly and no casualties were reported. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.
According to police officials, the bus had been brought from Hyderabad to Medak for repairs due to a technical issue. After the repair work was completed, the driver and cleaner were taking the vehicle back to Hyderabad early this morning when flames suddenly broke out from the engine compartment near Masaipet. The driver immediately pulled the bus over to the roadside, but within minutes the fire spread across the entire vehicle. Both the driver and cleaner quickly jumped out and escaped safely.
Upon receiving information, fire department personnel rushed to the spot with a fire engine and managed to bring the blaze under control after nearly an hour of efforts. By then, the bus had been completely destroyed. The incident also caused temporary traffic disruption on the national highway. Police are investigating whether the fire was caused by a short circuit or due to any faults in the repair work.
