New discussions regarding leadership rifts have emerged in Iran. Signals indicate that tensions are escalating between the country's political leadership and its military establishment. Suspicions are mounting that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, on one side, and the political leadership, on the other, are vying for influence over power.
Against this backdrop, a secret letter jointly penned by key Iranian leaders to Supreme Leader Mojtaba is creating a nationwide stir. It appears that senior figures—including Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, President Pezeshkian, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi—have signed this letter.
In the letter, the leaders urged that immediate measures be taken in light of the economic crisis facing the nation and the prevailing circumstances. They warned that tough decisions are imperative to prevent the country's economic collapse. Furthermore, they expressed deep concern that if current policies persist, the nation's very security would be jeopardized.
Additionally, the letter called for a reduction in military interference in governance, advocating instead that priority be accorded to the decisions made by elected representatives. Suggesting the necessity of changes in foreign policy, the leaders appealed to the leadership to re-evaluate its strategic approach.
