Opening the innings, he played a key role in guiding CSK to a strong total of 207/6 in 20 overs. Samson reached his second century of the season and his fifth IPL hundred overall in just 54 balls. With this knock, Samson set a new benchmark for Chennai Super Kings against Mumbai Indians. He went past the previous best score held by Ruturaj Gaikwad, who had made an unbeaten 88 off 58 balls in 2021.
