Cyclone Arnab has crossed the Andhra Pradesh coast between Yanam and Narasapuram, close to the Konaseema region, according to the weather department. The system has weakened from a very severe cyclonic storm to a severe cyclonic storm. However, officials have warned that the danger has not completely passed, with the next six to seven hours expected to be critical. Weather officials are continuing to monitor the cyclone’s movement and the changing conditions.
Heavy rainfall is expected across coastal Andhra Pradesh, particularly in Konaseema and the Godavari districts. Residents in coastal and low-lying areas have been advised to remain alert and follow official instructions. People should avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from trees and electric poles during strong winds, and monitor updates from weather authorities and emergency response teams until conditions improve.
