New Zealand has announced an increase in visa service fees collected at visa application centres, including those in India. The revised fees will come into effect from January 1 at select centres. The New Zealand Immigration Department stated that the hike will apply across 25 countries and is driven by rising operational costs and inflation.
Authorities clarified that the service fee charged by visa application centres is separate from the visa application fee. The department said recent system upgrades have made the revision necessary and advised applicants to check the updated fee structure before submitting their applications.
India, along with Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Japan, and other countries, is part of the affected list. Applicants planning to apply for a New Zealand visa are advised to visit the official visa application centre or the VFS Global website for accurate information. Officials also warned that due to recent system upgrades, applicants may experience temporary technical issues while accessing online applications or documents.
