Airport authorities at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, seized hydroponic cannabis worth an estimated ₹7 crore that was allegedly smuggled into the country from Hong Kong. According to officials, a Hyderabad resident identified as Deepak Josekutty had travelled to Hong Kong on personal work and returned on a Cathay Pacific flight carrying the contraband concealed in his luggage.
During a routine security inspection, officials detected the narcotic substance and recovered nearly seven kilograms of hydroponic cannabis. The accused was immediately taken into custody, and a detailed investigation has been launched to determine the source of the drugs and any possible links to a larger smuggling network. Authorities are also examining whether additional individuals were involved in the operation.
