Royal Challengers Bengaluru successfully defended their IPL title, defeating Gujarat Titans by five wickets in the IPL 2026 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Restricting Gujarat to 155/8, RCB produced a clinical performance with both ball and bat to secure their second consecutive championship. Pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Rasikh Salam Dar played crucial roles with the ball, dismantling Gujarat’s batting lineup and keeping the scoring rate under control throughout the innings.
Chasing 156, RCB got off to a flying start through Venkatesh Iyer and Virat Kohli. While Iyer scored a brisk 32, Kohli anchored the innings with a magnificent unbeaten 75. Despite a brief fightback from Rashid Khan, who claimed two wickets in quick succession, RCB maintained control of the chase. Tim David's valuable contribution and Jitesh Sharma’s support at the end ensured Bengaluru crossed the finish line comfortably in 18 overs. Gujarat’s batting struggled under pressure, with only Washington Sundar standing firm with an unbeaten half-century.

The victory capped off a dominant campaign for Bengaluru, who had already defeated Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1. Led by Kohli’s brilliance and an all-round team effort, RCB once again proved why they are among the most formidable sides in the tournament. For Gujarat Titans, the season ended with a runner-up finish despite an impressive campaign under Shubman Gill’s leadership.
