Telangana Police have warned the public against misleading advertisements circulating on social media platforms. Attractive discount offers, health claims, and promotional content shared by influencers are increasingly being used to deceive users. Authorities advised people not to blindly trust such advertisements, as they can lead to financial losses and health risks.
According to officials, social media platforms have become major channels for fake promotions, including online betting, fraudulent investment schemes, unverified health products, and misleading real estate advertisements. Citizens are urged to verify facts thoroughly before making purchases or investment decisions based on online promotions.
Police also highlighted the growing misuse of artificial intelligence to create fake before and after images for beauty and health products. Many advertisements make unscientific claims about curing diseases without any clinical evidence. Authorities stressed that public awareness and vigilance, especially among senior citizens, are essential to preventing cyber fraud and online scams.
