The NDA coalition, having achieved a landslide victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, has formed the new government. JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar took oath as Bihar Chief Minister for the 10th time. Alongside him, 27 ministers were sworn in.
Significantly, after two decades, Nitish Kumar has handed over the key Home Ministry portfolio to the BJP. Political analysts note that this move strengthens BJP’s influence within the coalition, positioning them closer to the “driving seat.”
The Home Ministry, previously held by Nitish Kumar, has been assigned to Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Samrat Chaudhary. Another deputy, Vijay Kumar Sinha, received the Mines, Geology, Land, and Revenue departments. Mangala Pandey will lead Health and Law portfolios, while Dilip Jaiswal has been appointed as Industry Minister.
