The counting of hundi offerings from the biennial Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma Maha Jatara 2026 has crossed the ₹13 crore mark. The process, which is being held at the TTD Kalyana Mandapam in Hanumakonda, entered its final phase with officials and bank staff working in shifts to count the massive volume of offerings. According to the Endowments Department, devotees from various states who visited Asia's largest tribal festival have made significant offerings in the form of cash, gold, and silver. A total of 828 hundis were installed at the shrine for the four-day festival. Officials noted that while the cash collection has already surpassed ₹13 crore, the final tally is expected to be higher once the counting of coins and foreign currency is completed. The revenue generated will be distributed between the state government and the tribal priests as per the traditional agreement. Tight security and continuous CCTV surveillance have been maintained throughout the counting process to ensure transparency.
