With just three days left for the commencement of the world-famous Medaram Maha Jatara, the Telangana government has intensified arrangements to ensure a smooth experience for nearly 1.5 crore devotees expected to attend the festival. Special focus has been placed on facilitating holy baths at Jampanna Vagu, where the Irrigation Department has undertaken additional measures compared to previous jatras. Water levels are being maintained continuously from Reddigudem through Jampanna Vagu up to Chilakalagutta to support uninterrupted bathing rituals.
To enhance devotee convenience, the Irrigation Department has carried out works worth nearly ₹50 crore. As part of these efforts, 348 Battery of Taps, 119 dressing rooms, and nine cross bunds have been constructed along Jampanna Vagu to maintain uniform water levels. Repair works at the ghats have also been completed, while continuous chlorination is being carried out to prevent water contamination. Officials stated that these comprehensive arrangements aim to provide safe, hygienic, and hassle-free bathing facilities to lakhs of devotees during the Medaram Jatara.
