Fresh details have emerged regarding the major encounter that took place in the Maredumilli forests. According to Intelligence Additional DGP Mahesh Chandra Ladda, security forces engaged in a gun battle with Maoists between 5 AM and 6 AM today. He confirmed that six Maoists were killed during the operation.
Among the deceased were top Maoist leader Hidma, his wife, and four other members. Authorities believe that around five more Maoists managed to escape into the forest during the exchange of fire. Ladda stated that security forces have recently detained 31 individuals who were providing support to Maoists and are in the process of taking 26 more into custody based on further intelligence inputs.
The bodies of the slain Maoists were shifted to the Rampachodavaram area hospital for post-mortem examination. Officials identified the deceased as residents of Chhattisgarh, and their families are being informed.
