

A young cricketer from Karimnagar district has earned a place in the Indian Premier League. Twenty-one-year-old Perala Aman Rao was picked by Rajasthan Royals for ₹30 lakh at the auction held on Tuesday, marking a major milestone in his budding career.
Aman Rao is currently representing the Hyderabad team in the Under-23 Ranji cricket tournament. He recently impressed in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, scoring two half-centuries at an impressive strike rate of 160, showcasing his strong batting prowess.
Cricket runs in Aman Rao’s family. His father, Perala Madhusudan Rao, earlier played district-level cricket as a member of the Karimnagar Hindu Cricket team. His grandfather, Perala Gopal Rao, served as Vice Chairman in a previous Zilla Parishad governing body. The family hails from Vennampalli village in Saidapur mandal, though they have been residing in Hyderabad for the past few years. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay and former Mayor Sunil Rao expressed their happiness over Aman Rao’s IPL selection in a statement.
