The central government has expressed strong displeasure over the ongoing crisis involving Indigo flights. It has ordered a high-level investigation into the issue and stated that strict action will be taken against those responsible. To monitor the situation arising from disruptions in flight services, the government has also set up a special control room.
The government clarified that the DGCA’s decision to amend FDTL norms is unacceptable and announced that the orders are being suspended with immediate effect. Reiterating that passenger safety cannot be compromised, the Centre directed that full refunds be issued for cancelled flights and that proper accommodation be provided to the affected passengers.
