Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) successfully defended their Indian Premier League (IPL) title, defeating Gujarat Titans by five wickets in the IPL 2026 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The victory marked RCB’s second consecutive championship, capping off a dominant campaign in which the team topped the league stage and delivered consistent performances throughout the tournament. Players, coaching staff and supporters celebrated the memorable achievement as the franchise added another glorious chapter to its history.
Following the title triumph, RCB issued a special appeal to fans, urging them to celebrate responsibly and prioritise safety. The franchise encouraged supporters to enjoy the victory with family and friends rather than gathering in large crowds. The message comes in the backdrop of the tragic stampede that occurred during the team's 2025 title celebrations in Bengaluru, which claimed 11 lives. Meanwhile, victory celebrations in parts of Andhra Pradesh reportedly led to traffic disruptions and incidents of vandalism, prompting authorities to caution fans against actions that could endanger public safety or damage property. RCB has indicated that it is not planning any official victory parade this year.
