India is third in the number of billionaires in the world

India is witnessing rapid growth in wealth creation. According to the Hurun Global Rich List 2026, India has secured the third position in the world in terms of the number of billionaires, after the United States and China.

The report states that India currently has a total of 308 billionaires, with their combined wealth estimated at around ₹112.6 lakh crore. Notably, 24 new billionaires joined the list within just one year, reflecting the country’s growing economic strength. Mumbai continues to lead as the city with the highest number of billionaires, with about 95 wealthy individuals residing there.

The list also includes 23 women billionaires from India, highlighting the increasing participation of women in wealth creation.
