Andhra Pradesh is set to witness another major boost in its industrial and clean energy sectors, with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu scheduled to lay the foundation stone for a large renewable energy project in Anakapalli district. Leading clean energy company ReNew Energy Global has come forward to establish a massive facility at Rambilli with a production capacity of over 6 gigawatts. The project, with a total investment of ₹5,400 crore, includes a ₹4,200 crore solar ingot-wafer manufacturing unit and a ₹1,200 crore hybrid captive renewable power project of 125 MW capacity. These projects are expected to be completed within the next two years, positioning the district prominently on both national and international industrial maps.
The initiative is expected to generate employment for around 2,100 people, significantly benefiting local youth. The state government is prioritizing renewable energy to strengthen the power sector and accelerate growth across industries, agriculture, and services. ReNew Energy Global has earlier announced an investment plan of ₹82,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh, following its participation in the CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam. As part of this expansion, another mega hybrid renewable project worth approximately ₹22,000 crore is planned in Anantapur district. The company has already established a presence in the state with operational wind and solar projects, reinforcing Andhra Pradesh’s ambition to emerge as a major hub for clean energy.
