Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy has alleged that the Revanth Reddy-led government has failed in the investigation into the Kaleshwaram corruption case. He questioned why no action has been taken over alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project. He stated that the recent Telangana High Court verdict on the Justice P.C. Ghose Commission report once again exposed the government’s shortcomings in handling the issue. He issued a formal statement in this regard.
He further criticized the government, saying that despite strong evidence of large-scale corruption in the Kaleshwaram project, it failed to present the material effectively before the court in a legally sound manner. Due to the inability to submit proper evidence, the court’s ruling on further action based on the commission report reflects the government’s negligence and inefficiency, he said. He added that the Congress government has remained limited to words rather than action.
He also reminded that during the elections, Congress had promised strict action and thorough investigations into alleged corruption involving the KCR family, former ministers, and BRS leaders. However, even after two and a half years in power, not a single major investigation has been initiated, he pointed out. He questioned the lack of action in cases related to Kaleshwaram, Formula One racing expenses, the drug case, land encroachments, Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya, despite the Chief Minister himself alleging corruption. He further claimed that political understanding between parties is the reason behind the inaction of the Revanth Reddy government.
