The investigation into the Andhra Pradesh liquor scam has reached a crucial stage as the Special Investigation Team (SIT) is moving forward with legal action against key officials from the previous government. The SIT has sent letters seeking prosecution approval for former IAS officer Dhanunjaya Reddy and IRTS officer Vasudeva Reddy. Approval has been requested from the Department of Personnel and Training and the concerned railway authorities.
Both officials are accused in the case, with Vasudeva Reddy listed as A2 and Dhanunjaya Reddy as A31. The SIT had earlier arrested and questioned them, and they are currently out on bail. With the request for prosecution sanction, the investigation has gained new momentum, marking an important step in the case.
