In IPL 2026, Sunrisers Hyderabad delivered a strong performance at Uppal Stadium and defeated Chennai Super Kings by 10 runs. Batting first, Hyderabad posted 194 runs. Abhishek Sharma (59) and Heinrich Klaasen (59) played brilliant knocks and built a solid total. Despite looking set for a bigger score, Chennai bowlers Anshul Kamboj (3-22) and Jamie Overton (3-37) controlled the innings in the final overs.
Chasing the target, Chennai lost early wickets as Nitish Reddy (2-31) gave the first breakthrough by dismissing Samson (7). Ayush Mhatre (30) played aggressively and hit multiple boundaries, but Klaasen took a fine diving catch to dismiss him. Ishan Malinga (3-29) removed Ruturaj Gaikwad (19), while Sarfaraz Khan (25) and Dewald Brevis (0) also failed to stay long at the crease.
Later, Matthew Short (34) and Shivam Dube (21) tried to steady the chase, but a brilliant catch by Aniket Verma ended Short’s innings. Shakib then bowled Dube in the 17th over, turning the match in Hyderabad’s favor. In the final over, Chennai needed 18 runs, but Hyderabad held their nerves and secured a 10-run victory. With this win, Hyderabad registered their third victory and kept their playoff hopes alive.
