V. C. Sajjanar, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, has urged citizens not to believe rumours circulating on social media about a petrol and diesel shortage in the city. He clarified that there is no shortage of fuel and warned that strict action will be taken against those attempting to create artificial scarcity. The clarification comes after reports from parts of Gujarat triggered panic among residents, leading to long queues at fuel stations in Hyderabad.
Sajjanar stated that Telangana has sufficient fuel reserves to last for up to 60 days and reassured the public that authorities are closely monitoring the situation. Surveillance has been intensified on social media platforms to curb misinformation. Officials are also reviewing conditions at all 186 petrol bunks across Hyderabad to ensure smooth supply and prevent unnecessary panic among citizens.
