

In a shocking incident, an 18-year-old Indian student, Vaishnav Krishnakumar, studying at Middlesex University Dubai, passed away due to a cardiac arrest during Diwali celebrations in the city.
According to reports, Vaishnav suddenly collapsed while celebrating the festival with friends. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared brought dead by the doctors.
Dubai Police confirmed that the Forensic Department has launched an investigation to determine the exact cause and circumstances surrounding his sudden death. Initial findings suggest cardiac arrest, although his family mentioned that Vaishnav had no prior history of heart-related issues.
Vaishnav hailed from Chennithala, Alappuzha district, Kerala, and was pursuing his first-year BBA (Marketing) degree. Born and raised in the UAE, he was the elder son of VG Krishnakumar and Vidhu Krishnakumar. His father has been working in the UAE for over two decades, and the family is well-known within the Malayali community there.
A former student of GEMS Our Own Indian School, Vaishnav was remembered as a bright, disciplined, and ambitious student. He had also received the UAE Golden Visa, a long-term residence permit given to exceptional students and professionals. Vaishnav was also an active participant in Model United Nations (MUN) programs, showcasing his interest in global affairs and leadership.
The tragic incident has left the Indian and Malayali communities in Dubai in deep shock and grief, with condolences pouring in from friends, teachers, and well-wishers.
