The ‘Ditva’ cyclone over the Southwest Bay of Bengal is currently centered at a distance of 100 km from Karaikal, 110 km from Puducherry, and 180 km from Chennai. In the past six hours, the system has moved at a speed of 12 kmph. Over the next 24 hours, the cyclone is expected to move parallel to the North Tamil Nadu–Puducherry coast. Prakasam, Nellore, and Tirupati districts are advised to stay on high alert, said Prakhar Jain, MD of the Disaster Management Authority, Andhra Pradesh.
