The cold wave in Greater Hyderabad is intensifying, leading to a rise in respiratory infections among children and the elderly. Lower temperatures have resulted in a spike in cases of cough, cold, fever, asthma, skin dryness, joint pain, and bronchial issues. Hospitals, especially pediatric units, are witnessing heavy rush as the number of patients increases.
Doctors advise people to avoid exposure to cold winds, keep children warm, and consume immunity-boosting food. They also caution against early morning walks during heavy fog. Foggy roads are causing travel disruptions, while GHMC workers and milk vendors are struggling to cope with severe cold during early working hours.
