

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has responded to the allegations of sexual harassment and forced religious conversions at the TCS Nashik campus, describing the matter as extremely serious. He stated that preliminary findings indicate the involvement of an organized group behind the incidents. The TCS management has also condemned the incident. Assuring strict action, the Chief Minister said that those responsible will not be spared and that central investigative agencies will be brought in for a detailed probe. So far, police have arrested eight individuals and are continuing their investigation.
Nashik Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik revealed that the victim had repeatedly approached the HR department with complaints, but no action was taken. He further alleged that she was discouraged from filing a police complaint. During the investigation, seven more women came forward with similar allegations, stating that they had faced harassment at the workplace between February 2022 and 2026. Police are also probing possible links of the accused with extremist groups.
