The Telangana Government has formed a high level coordination committee to oversee investigations, planning, and rehabilitation of the Medigadda, Sundilla, and Annaram barrages. The committee will conduct geo-physical and geo technical studies to assess the structural condition before initiating repairs. These studies are scheduled to be completed before the onset of the monsoon in June 2026. A detailed day wise action plan is to be prepared by May 30, along with daily progress reports to be submitted by 5 PM and weekly reports to the government every Monday and Thursday.
The committee includes officials, engineers, and experts from various government agencies and reputed organisations such as L&T, Afcons, AFRY, Navayuga, and CWPRS. Meanwhile, Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy met the NDSA Chairman in Delhi to discuss testing, investigation, and rehabilitation procedures for the barrages under the Kaleshwaram project.
