

Telangana Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao has directed officials to prepare a comprehensive plan for expanding electric vehicle charging infrastructure across the state. Emphasising future needs, he called for coordinated efforts between the government and private sector to establish more charging stations in both urban and rural areas. The aim is to ensure easy accessibility for the growing number of electric vehicle users.
During a review meeting held at the State Secretariat, officials discussed strategies to strengthen EV infrastructure. The Chief Secretary highlighted the need for a centralised real-time dashboard to map and monitor charging stations, ensuring transparency and efficient implementation. Energy Department officials also revealed plans to make EV charging points mandatory in apartment basements, which is expected to boost adoption by providing convenient home charging options.
