A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to undertake restoration works of the Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla barrages under the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project strictly as per the guidelines of the National Dam Safety Authority. During a high-level review meeting held in Delhi along with Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, the Chief Minister assessed the progress of testing, drilling, and repair activities. He sought detailed updates from the steering committee convenor, Colonel Parikshit Mehra, who informed that bore drilling at Medigadda is expected to gain momentum by the end of this month. The CM emphasized speeding up the restoration works while maintaining quality standards.
Revanth Reddy cautioned officials against temporary or incomplete measures, stating that such negligence had led to the current condition of the barrages. He instructed that all works must be carried out thoroughly to ensure long-term usability and prevent criticism of the government. The Chief Minister stressed that past mistakes should not be repeated and that the barrages must be restored efficiently and brought back into operation. Senior officials, including secretaries and engineers, attended the meeting and discussed strategies to ensure timely completion of the project.
