

Renowned global investor Mark Mobius has passed away at the age of 89 in New York. Widely regarded as a pioneer in emerging market investments, Mobius had immense confidence in the long-term growth of stock markets across developing nations, including India. His 2021 statement predicting a 50-year rally in the Indian stock market had created significant buzz in financial circles.
A PhD graduate in Economics and Political Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mobius brought over five decades of experience in global financial markets. He had deep expertise in Asian markets such as India and China, as well as in regions like Russia and Venezuela. Until recently, he served as Executive Chairman of the Templeton Emerging Markets Group, leaving behind a lasting legacy in international investing.
