Vedanta Power Plant Explosion: FIR Filed Against Chairman Anil Agarwal and Others!

A case has been registered in connection with the tragic explosion at a Vedanta Group power plant in Shakti district of Chhattisgarh. The FIR names Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal along with several others. The incident, which occurred on the 14th of this month at the Singitarai plant, claimed the lives of 20 workers and left 16 others critically injured.

Police have registered the case at Dabra Police Station under sections 106, 289, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, confirmed Shakti District SP Prafull Thakur. He stated that eight to ten individuals, including the chairman, have been named in the FIR. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation, and further cases may be added depending on findings. Post-mortem and forensic reports are awaited, while a technical expert team has been constituted to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
