Chennai Cyber Crime officials have arrested three key accused in connection with the ‘Jana Nayagan’ movie leak case. Police revealed that a freelance assistant editor, who worked on another film, illegally accessed the editing studio of ‘Jana Nayagan’ and stole crucial data. The stolen footage was later converted into video format and shared with others, leading to the scenes being leaked online. The accused were produced before the court and remanded, as confirmed by the cyber crime department.
Authorities have warned the public against promoting piracy, stating that sharing unauthorized content will invite strict legal action. Earlier, six individuals had already been arrested in this case. The film has been facing delays due to pending censor certification, and the situation worsened after leaked scenes surfaced online and were even broadcast on a local channel in Coimbatore. The channel owner has also been taken into custody. The film features a popular Kollywood star and political leader in the lead role.
