Russia launched a massive assault on civilian areas in Ukraine, deploying nearly 700 drones and dozens of missiles in a prolonged attack that lasted several hours. Ukrainian officials confirmed that at least 16 people were killed and around 80 others injured. The strikes caused extensive damage to infrastructure, including 17 apartment buildings, 10 houses, a hotel, and a shopping mall. Authorities described it as the largest attack in the past two weeks, highlighting the increasing intensity of the conflict.
According to Ukraine’s air force, a significant number of incoming threats, including 667 drones—among them 636 Shahed-type drones—and 31 missiles, were intercepted mid-air, though some managed to hit their targets. Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently visited Germany, Norway, and Italy seeking enhanced air defense support. Experts believe the latest Russian offensive could be a response to these diplomatic efforts. Meanwhile, Moscow has warned that it may target European nations supplying drones and military equipment to Ukraine, raising concerns over further escalation.
