

The iconic Baahubali franchise is set to make a mark globally once again, this time in an animated format. The upcoming CGI film Baahubali: The Eternal War – Part 1 has been officially selected for the prestigious Annecy International Animation Film Festival, marking a proud moment for Indian animation. This selection highlights the growing global recognition of Indian storytelling and animation quality.
After the massive success of the Baahubali films, which redefined Indian cinema standards, the makers are aiming to take the legacy forward with this ambitious project. Scheduled for a theatrical release in 2027, the story explores events after Baahubali’s death, depicting an epic war between divine and demonic forces across 14 kingdoms. The film is directed by Ishan Shukla, with the screenplay written by Scott Mosier.
Prabhas and Ramya Krishnan will lend their voices to Baahubali and Sivagami, respectively. The film is being produced in collaboration with international studios, with music composed by M. M. Keeravani. Backed by multiple production houses, the film’s teaser has already created strong buzz, with expectations that it could elevate Indian animation to a global level. All eyes are now on its reception at the international festival, making it a special treat for fans.
