C.P. Sajjanar emphasized that bank employees play a crucial role in protecting the public from cyber crimes. He advised bankers to be more vigilant and responsible towards their customers, and to immediately alert them if they notice signs of fraud. He pointed out that victims of digital arrest scams or investment frauds often attempt to withdraw large sums or take loans against gold in a hurry.
He added that unusual behavior or panic among customers should raise suspicion of possible cyber fraud. Bankers must take special care to protect elderly people and pensioners from losing their lifetime savings. In case of suspicious transactions, they should promptly inform the police or report to helpline numbers 1930 or 100. He stressed that coordinated efforts by bankers, police, and the public are essential to build a cyber crime-free society.
