During the Collector’s Conference in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed concern over recent incidents such as the diarrhoea outbreak in Srikakulam, the adulterated milk issue in Rajamahendravaram, and the firecracker accident in Vetapalem. He said such incidents are painful and emphasized that officials must take responsibility to prevent them. The Chief Minister warned that strict action would be taken against anyone who ignores public safety and asked departments to remain alert to avoid similar problems in the future.
Naidu also directed district collectors to spend at least eight days every month on field visits, while senior secretaries should tour districts for four days to closely monitor government programmes. He stressed the need to provide safe drinking water to every household and to complete major projects that ensure long-term solutions. The Chief Minister also called for effective implementation of health screening programmes, improved sanitation systems, waste to energy projects, and housing distribution for beneficiaries. He urged officials to ensure better infrastructure and work towards achieving awards in the upcoming national cleanliness survey.
